my dog is an avatar
|
If it ever struck my father as strange that his mother’s dog was really an angel in disguise that reincarnated more than twenty five years after it died, to some people this was just perfectly normal. It was an odd phenomenon to experience, but the more we became involved with channelling, the more we seemed to attract people who were fully conversant with the concepts and language that Michael et al had been revealing.
On the one hand this was excellent because it gave the opportunity to discuss these ideas freely and openly without fear that someone was going to think me an idiot. On the other, it began to bring us into contact with some quite unusual people.
We met many wonderful individuals who were charming and very well intended; there were also encounters with people who struck me as very strange and over the top. There was a disconnected air about them as if they were somehow intentionally divorcing themselves from reality in their efforts to become higher dimensional beings. Sometimes it was embarrassing, sometimes just plain funny. I have met so many reincarnations of Cleopatra that I have lost count.
Funnily enough, it never occurred to me that from another perspective I might appear to be every bit as strange as them, at least in some of the things I now absolutely believed to be true. I still felt perfectly normal and if I never happened to mention it (and believe me, it’s not the sort of thing you drop casually into a conversation) you would never know that I channelled.
It was and still remains the case that my delivery of any information that I have is totally matter of fact. Although I do not lack sensitivity, I am well aware that I often fall short of the desire of others for there to be an otherworldly quality about me. There simply isn’t. Some people also expect that because of my own beliefs, I will instantaneously and automatically accept any claims they may make about spiritual matters. Unfortunately I will only believe what Michael or one of the beings I channel tells me is true.
Through a friend for whom I had channelled we were approached by a lady who asked if I would do a private channelling for her and we arranged to visit her at her house the next week.
When we arrived at the lady’s house she welcomed us at the door and immediately invited us to follow her as there was something that she wanted to show us. She led us through to a room at the back of the house where a rather corpulent dog was sleeping soundly, evidenced by the volume of the snoring he emitted. She gazed upon the dog fondly and announced to us with a great deal of pride: “This is my dog Randy. He’s an avatar”.
“No, he’s not” said Michael loud and clear in my head as the lady looked to me for affirmation. I smiled uncomfortably and managed to say “Oh, right…”
I seldom remember anything clearly from a channelling session so when, an hour later, I ‘emerged’ from my out of body state, I was surprised to discover that the lady was clearly a little put out. Sharon was bravely trying to explain a point to the lady who was quite teary and irritated. “What’s going on?” I asked, hoping that I was misinterpreting the scene that was unfolding before me.
It transpired that the lady had asked what the avatar’s purpose had been in coming to live its lifetime with her. Michael had simply answered “The dog is not an avatar” but the response was unacceptable to her. “It is!” she countered. “The dog is not an avatar” Michael repeated. A long and tense silence had followed before she had decided to change the subject and resume her questioning.
She might not have been prepared to argue for too long with an Archangel, but she didn’t mind arguing with me!
The basic tenet she followed was that the dog was saintly. It seemed to know her every thought and responded to them almost before they entered her mind. The dog had never been any trouble. Even as a puppy he had never made a mess, chewed anything, stolen any food or bitten anyone. He could be walked without a leash and he would never run off. When he encountered other dogs, he had never had any conflict with them. If there were children in the house, he would let them do anything to him without so much as a grumble. If the lady went out and left the dog in the house, he would be waiting at the window for her to return. If ever there was somebody who had bad energy the dog would give a low growl to warn her. Once when she had accidentally left the gas on in the kitchen and she could not smell it because she had a bad cold, the dog had barked loudly and repeatedly run into the kitchen until she followed it and discovered her error.
The list of reasons to beatify the dog went on and on, in fact it seemed that the only thing he didn’t do was make the coffee in the morning.
The evidence presented, she sat back, confident that she had made her case.
I had no doubt that this was a very wonderful dog, but that’s about all it was: “I’m afraid that all of those things don’t make Randy an avatar” I said. Total indignation very obviously welled within her so I moved quickly on to explain by answering the unasked question: If a dog that appears so angelic is not an avatar, what is it?
It’s a dog and what’s wrong with that?
It is ironic but a dog that seems to be angelic is actually quite unlikely to be an avatar. When an animal behaves in a fashion similar to that described by the lady, it is far more likely that it is ‘in balance’.
What is being ‘in balance’?
It is a common feature of the learning requirements of many beings that exist on earth that they need, as their ultimate aim, to achieve balance. (In fact I now teach classes for humans who wish to understand what this means and how to do it.)
Basically, as we go through multiple lifetimes, we experience polarity and as part of this we do good and bad in different incarnations. But as we progress and learn, the emphasis in our learning moves from the need to merely experience life, through to the need to exercise choice within our life so as to balance our experience in favour of what is appropriate. This doesn't mean being perfect. It means being balanced!
It’s pretty much the same thing for dogs. Although it is difficult for us to conceive of the way in which this could be played out, it has a lot to do with those elements that would form the features of a dog’s life. For example, a balanced dog would be neither timid nor aggressive. It would exist in synergy with the needs of its humans neither being too dependent nor too independent. It would be loving but not needy.
Many factors of behaviour would feature as well as other influences that are not readily apparent to us such as the nature of their relationships with other dogs and creatures around them.
As we do good and bad across our lifetimes, so do dogs. As they learn they progress in soul levels until they reach the ultimate goal of achieving balance; and then they are able to move on in their development as spiritual entities.
Like humans, animals are on the ascension pathway. Their route is somewhat different from ours and contrary to some belief systems, there is no cross-over. However, they are pursuing the same purpose as us: Across a number of lifetimes they need to experience the polarities of the parameters of the possible through the range of their experiences; and they need to achieve balance through choice. Like us too, they go through phases of soul development. An animal that seems to be angelic is, on the balance of probability, more likely to be an old soul coming into balance than an avatar.
The equanimity achieved by an old soul is likely to be far greater than that attained by an avatar that is having its first third dimensional experience that may, for many reasons, be proving to be a real struggle.
After I had relayed these counter arguments the lady regarded me with a disdainful look and said: “Well, whatever you say, I know my dog is an avatar.”
We withdrew without further comment and perhaps needless to say, we have never heard from her since
